  • Director of Auxiliary Programs

    Woodland Presbyterian School, a coeducational, Christian independent school serving approximately 350 students in 2K through 8th grade, seeks a full-time, 12-month Director of Auxiliary Programs to join the Administrative Team.

    The Director is a key member of Woodland’s leadership team and provides leadership and oversight for the school’s auxiliary programs, including after-school care and summer programming. This position ensures that these programs are well-organized, financially sound, responsive to the needs of students and families, and aligned with Woodland’s mission.

    The ideal candidate will begin training in October 2026 and assume full-time responsibilities in November 2026.

    The Successful Candidate Will:
    • Demonstrate exceptional integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
    • Hold a bachelor’s degree and have a minimum of five years of professional experience.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
    • Possess excellent analytical, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrate the ability to hire, train, supervise, and evaluate after-school care and summer program staff.
    • Be proficient with technology and comfortable learning and using school databases and other administrative systems.
    • Ideally have experience working in an independent school or other mission-driven organization.
    • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and the ability to build positive working relationships with teachers, staff, parents, students, and community partners.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The Director of Auxiliary Programs will oversee Woodland’s after-school care and summer camp programs and will be responsible for:
    • Developing and implementing high-quality after-school and summer programs that meet the needs of Woodland students and families.
    • Managing the day-to-day operations of auxiliary programs, including scheduling, staffing, communication, and program logistics.
    • Recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and evaluating after-school care and summer program staff.
    • Evaluating program effectiveness, enrollment, staffing, and financial performance and making recommendations for improvement.
    • Coordinating with faculty and staff to ensure auxiliary programs complement Woodland’s academic and co-curricular offerings.
    • Maintaining appropriate budgets, financial controls, and procedures to ensure compliance with school policies and applicable regulations.
    • Communicating effectively with parents and families regarding auxiliary programs, schedules, policies, and other program-related matters.
    • Ensuring that auxiliary programs provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students.
    • Building and maintaining relationships with community partners who support or participate in Woodland’s auxiliary programs.
    • Collaborating with the Head of School and other members of the Administrative Team on the development and strategic direction of auxiliary programs.
    • Performing other duties as assigned by the Head of School.

  • Director of Finance

    Woodland Presbyterian School, a coeducational, Christian independent school serving approximately 350 students in 2K through 8th grade, seeks a full-time, 12-month Director of Finance to join the Administrative Team.

    The Director of Finance is a key member of Woodland's leadership team and provides strategic financial leadership for the school. Reporting directly to the Head of School, the Director works closely with the Board of Trustees Finance Committee to ensure the school's financial health, fiscal responsibility, and long-term sustainability.

    The ideal candidate will begin training in early October 2026 and assume full-time responsibilities by October 19, 2026.

    The successful candidate will:

    • Demonstrate exceptional integrity, discretion, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
    • Have a minimum of ten years of professional accounting or financial management experience, preferably including leadership experience.
    • Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
    • Demonstrate strong knowledge of budgeting, financial reporting, cash management, reconciliations, and internal controls.
    • Possess excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Be proficient with QuickBooks, Excel, Google Workspace, and school information systems such as Blackbaud.
    • Have experience with or a strong understanding of 501(c)(3) nonprofit accounting and financial reporting.
    • Ideally have experience in an independent school, nonprofit, or other mission-driven organization.
    • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality regarding employee, family, financial aid, tuition, and donor information.

    The Director of Finance oversees the school's business office and is responsible for:

    • General accounting, accounts payable and receivable, cash management, bank reconciliations, purchasing, and monthly financial reporting to the Head of School and Finance Committee.
    • Developing and monitoring the annual budget in partnership with the Head of School and Finance Committee.
    • Providing financial analysis, forecasting, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
    • Coordinating and working closely with the school's independent audit firm on the annual financial audit.
    • Overseeing payroll, employee benefits, and related financial records.
    • Overseeing the financial components of tuition management, collection, and financial aid.
    • Serving as a member of the Financial Aid Committee.
    • Working with the Director of Development to maintain accurate records for Annual Fund, capital campaign, and other charitable contributions.
    • Maintaining appropriate financial controls and ensuring compliance with school policies and applicable regulations.
    • Overseeing business office procedures, purchasing, vendor relationships, and financial processes.
    • Serving as a trusted financial advisor to the Head of School and working collaboratively with the Administrative Team and Board Finance Committee.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Head of School

  • After-School Care

    After-School Care Counselors are in charge of children aged 2 through eighth grade. Duties could include leading a variety of activities, games, serving snacks, and helping students with homework. 

    After School Care Counselors must possess the following qualities and/or skills:
    • Strong communication skills, counselors must be able to talk with students and colleagues about the progress of children in their care
    • Patience and strong decision-making skills
    • Instructional and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and visually observe students and the environment
    • Ability to follow and enforce safety policies
    • Flexibility and adaptability to new situations  
    • Assist in recreation programs
    • Assist with student check‐in/out
    • Attend all training meetings
    • Willingness to work indoors and outdoors
    • Must be 18 years old or older and be able to pass a background and reference check

    Work Hours and Compensation:
    After-school Care and Summer Camp Counselors are seasonal positions with daily work hours from 2:15-6:00 p.m.

    Substitute Teacher

    Grade Levels: Little Woodland (two year olds) – eighth grade
    Department: Early Childhood, Lower School, and Middle School
    Immediate Supervisor: Division Director
    Job Summary: Substitute for regular classroom teacher

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Assume all duties and responsibilities of regular classroom teacher;
    • Follow lesson plans provided by classroom teacher and facilitate learning opportunities for students;
    • Supervise students throughout daily routine in a variety of settings;
    • Communicate effectively and interact with students and staff (With parents, as necessary);
    • Provide an environment and climate conducive to the cognitive, educational, social, emotional, and physical development of children;
    • Other duties as requested.
    Knowledge/Experience/Physical Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Education or a related field
    • Experience working with children, preferably as a classroom teacher
    • Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and visually observe students and the environment
    • A positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
