6.30.2020 A Note from Nurse Gray Regarding Blast Summer Camp

Good Afternoon!

I am so excited for Summer Blast camp to begin on July 6th. This year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be a nurse on campus from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm each day. We will rotate nurses between Nurse Sharp, Nurse Weatherly, and myself. We are prepared and look forward to having some fun!

Due to the virus, we will be extra diligent concerning symptoms of illness among the campers and staff. All campers will be screened for fever and a brief questionnaire answered by the parent each day at the drop-off location. Please be familiarize yourself with our "When to Stay Home" guidelines. This document will tell you the criteria that will be considered during the health screening each morning.

Our definition of fever is still 100°F. However, if your camper presents with a temperature between 99.5°F and 99.9°F, you will be asked to drive to the front of the school for further assessment by the camp nurse. While our guidelines may be more inconvenient, these extra precautions protect all of our campers and staff.

In the event your camper becomes ill during the day, we will be contacting you for pick-up. We have an isolation room that will be used for any student presenting with fever and symptoms of COVID-19. Please pick-up your camper within 30 minutes of the nurse's call for the safety of our faculty. If a camper is sent home for illness, you must first call the camp nurse to discuss your camper's return.
