        Welcome to 2nd Grade!!!

    This year in 2nd grade you child will learn to have more resopnsibities and work more independently. We will start out the year learning classroom procedures and routines, get to know each other and work as a team, and learn conflict resolution and problem solving techniques. Our Language Arts curriculum follows Superkids and our math curriculum follows McGraw Hill. I look forward to working with your child and watching them grow.

    Social Studies- culture

Important Times to Remember

     Homework will start the week of August 26th. 








Office Hours

  • I am more than happy to spend extra time with you child throughout the school year should they need it. This is a time for me to reach every child individually on their level.

    I will have Thursday afternoons avalible for extra time. I will email or call to schedule this based on student needs or you can email me with your concerns.

Mrs. Amelia Cowan

This is my 11th year to teach at Woodland Presbyterian School. I also have 5 years of teaching experience from Memphis City Schools. I grew up in Memphis and earned my undergratuate degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I earned my Masters in Education from there as well.

My husband Ben and I have three son, Paul (5th grade), Seth (2st grade), and Mitchell (SK). We enjoy traveling to the beach, camping, riding our bikes, and making memories together.

Favorite things: the color green, Reese's candy, anything Disney, pizza, popcorn, sewing, and teaching 2nd grade
