Capital Campaigns

    CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

A capital campaign is a bricks and mortar fundraising effort to raise a specific sum of money within a defined period of time to meet building needs of a school. Needs can include the construction of new buildings, renovation of existing buildings, enlargement of buildings, land improvement, interior updates, and a building endowment for maintaining the school’s building structure. Many donors decide to increase their giving level during capital campaigns by making multiple year pledges and often consider a long-term stretch pledge payable over five years.  Past capital campaigns have ensured that current and future generations of Woodland families will continue to benefit from the School’s mission. Thanks to the foresight of former Woodland families, the following successful capital campaigns helped grow our school:  The United We Grow Campaign, Dunavant Building, Baker Building, Haygood Gymnasium, the Field of Dreams Campaign, and Bright Futures. For more information about Woodland’s capital campaign and other giving opportunities, please contact Tonya Eddins, Director of Development, teddins@woodlandschool.org.

    2016 Dollar-for-Dollar Campaign

Thanks to a match from the Knapp Foundation, and the Woodland community we raised  $47,500 to support renovations to the 3rd-5th-grade classrooms during the summer of 2016.

United We Grow Campaign - Phase One

Thanks to parents, church members, alumni, alumni parents, faculty, and staff the United We Grow Campaign raised $3.3 million making it the largest campaign in our campus history.  The Fall of 2014 Woodland School opened its doors to the completion of a new state of the art middle school building and renovations to the following classrooms:

    Junior Kindergarten

    Senior Kindergarten

    First Grade

    Second Grade

    Six Grade

The joint campaign between the school and church also saw renovations on the church side:

    New Choir Suite

    New Youth Room

    New Classrooms and meeting spaces

    United We Grow Pledges

We are grateful to the over 300 supporters who made multiple year pledges to support the United We Grow Campaign. We started and completed construction on phase one as a result of each donor's pledge commitment, and we encourage all donors to stay current with their pledge payments.  We also recognize that supporters may want to consider a final pledge payment as they get closer to their pledge commitment.  Please contact Tonya Eddins, Development Director for information on your pledge balance, or any updates to your monthly pledge payments teddins@woodlandschool.org
