How do I get information regarding the admission process at Woodland Presbyterian School?

Fill out an online inquiry form. Please feel free to contact Tim Tatum, Admissions Director, at (901) 685-0976 or via email at admissions@woodlandschool.org.

Do I have to come to an open house if my child is applying for admission?

Attendance at an open house is not required as part of the application process. Open houses are, however, often helpful to families who are trying to decide which school might be the best match for their child. Families may prefer to schedule a visit during the school day, so they can experience all that Woodland has to offer.

What score does my child have to have on the admission test in order to be admitted?

There is no required minimum score on admission tests. Admission testing is only one part of the application process and the results will be looked at in conjunction with teacher recommendations, previous grades, observations, and interviews.

My child will not turn three years old until after June 15. Can he/she still apply for Pre-Kindergarten?

Applications for students whose birthdays fall after the June 15 cutoff are certainly taken and considered as any other application would be. However, our applicant pool tends to be on the older side each year, so a young applicant might be considered too young to be a good match for the class he or she would be entering.

    Does Woodland require immunization records?

For the health and safety of our students and faculty, Woodland adheres to the Tennessee State Department of Health requirements that each student have a health history form and a Tennessee Certificate of Immunization on file prior to the student’s first day of school. Please click here to view the full policy.

When will I know whether or not my child has been admitted?

By agreement with the other Memphis Association of Independent Schools (MAIS) in the area, we can send first notices of admission on an agreed-upon date in February. That date is determined at the beginning of each year by the MAIS group. After those dates, we will notify families as soon as the files are complete.

Is it important which preschool school my child goes to when he/she is applying for Early Childhood?

No. We accept students from a wide range of preschool schools.

Is it possible for my child to visit Woodland in order to decide whether or not to apply?

    Does Woodland offer scholarships?
