A Thank You from Ryan Voehringer, Class of 2014
College has been an eye opening experience for sure, but my roots have allowed me to flourish. I really do mean it when I say that I would not be who I am without my Woodland experience. From the administration, teachers, environment, and everything in between Woodland is a special, special place. As I get older and look back on it I thank God for allowing me to be blessed by attending Woodland. Since leaving Woodland, I have never once felt unprepared to tackle life’s multitude of obstacles. Academically, I was tenfold more prepared than most of my peers at Christian Brothers. Socially, I was not afraid to be myself. Athletically, Woodland taught me that I didn’t have to be the biggest or the fastest to compete; while I didn’t make it too far athletically I can take this attitude into life in that I know I can compete and outwork just about anyone. Religiously, Woodland pushed me to understand the true meaning of God’s grace and sacrifice and how to live a faith centered life. I will never forget what Woodland has done for me and my family and I know hundreds of other families would say the same thing. I’ll stop here and conclude with one last thought.
At our 8th grade graduation ceremony you told us to never forget where we came from. Well, over the past four years through all the highs and lows, fun times and not so fun times, I have not forgotten. Woodland will forever be a form of extended family to me and I look forward to hopefully sending my own kids there some day.
Thank you Mr. Moore, and the rest of my Woodland family for the impact you have had on my life.
