    Little Veterinarian School

    Class 1: Making it to Nine Live students will learn how to transport a cat to the vet and recognize common body 

                 Conditions.

    Class 2: Paws for an Exam students will role [lay the responsibilities of a vet and perform a whiskers-to-tail exam.

    Class 3: Don’t get Scratched students will learn about body language and how to safely approach a cat.

    Class 4: Cat Home Life students will learn about the importance of litter box placement and creating a healthy 

                  Home.

    Class 5: Avoid the Grumpy Cat students will discover what causes stress in cats and create a cat toy.

    Class 6: Graduation students will design a vet clinic and graduate with a Little Veterinarian School

                  Diploma.

    Garden Club

    Calling all gardeners! Enjoy the outdoors as you learn to plan, create, tend, and harvest in our beautiful, award-winning Woodland Garden. Each Monday, we’ll meet to implement nature projects the children help create, using skills they learn. If your child loves the outdoors and wants to cultivate a “green thumb” this is the perfect ETC class!!

    Debate Club

    In debate club, topics will be put forward for opposing viewpoints in an informal type of discussion. Teams will compete against each other and will be evaluated by a list of criteria based around the concepts of content, style, and strategy. At the end of each debate, Mrs. Orians will reveal who the winners are, explain why those participants won, pinpoint what both sides did well and where they need to improve, and give advice for how to do a better job in the next informal debate.

    Art Academy

    Mrs. Duffey will conduct the legendary Art Academy on Tuesdays for artists starting in 1st  grade. In this class, your artist will create a variety of ceramic pieces that will be painted and glazed to be sent home on the last day of class.

    Chess Club

    Students in Chess Club will learn the foundations of the game while also deepening their understanding of chess's strategy and tactics. They will learn to play competitively and fairly with other club members while their own skills grow and their knowledge of both the game and their own capabilities deepens.

    Hula Dance

    Come learn all the fun ways to hula hoop with Mrs. Charity Seibert. 

    Learn fun tricks and explore artistic movement with the hula hoop. Create a mini-routine for a parent video. For the final class, students will design their very own take-home hoop.

    Wings Gymnastics- Obstacle Mania!

    Jump! Duck! Roll! Crawl! Climb! Swing! Each of our obstacle courses will focus on different muscles and skill groups like rolling, jumping, upper-body strength, balance, and body awareness. This is fun class focuses on physical and mental organization along with practical problem solving.  The kids will stay up & busy as they conquer...well...the obstacles!

    Planned Activities
    Each class starts with 10-15 minutes of fun aerobic warm-ups & stretches. We will split into age-alike small groups so they can work on the skills needed in their obstacle course for the day. Then, we’ll put it all together for the MANIA! During the semester session, we will conquer at least 4 obstacle courses that serve different development & growth purposes.  A stamp or a sticker is awarded at the end of class.  The stamp is also a communication with the parents that their child attended and did their personal best that day!


    Wings Gymnastics Fundamentals

    COME JOIN THE FUN!  Boys and girls in 1st grade will learn or build on beginning skills on 4 Olympic events: floor, bars, balance beam, and vault. With a little more focus on form and execution, our gymnasts will develop flexibility, strength, coordination, and confidence as they jump, flip, swing, handstand & cartwheel!

    Green Thumbs

    Student Gardeners will be exploring, creating, digging, splashing, and planting 

    in the Woodland Garden. They will complete different projects in different areas of the

    garden with Ms. Jabbour. She is excited to spend time with your gardeners as they learn about nature and grow as respectful stewards of the Earth.

    3rd and 4th Grade Homework Room 

    Need a little extra help with homework? Test preparation? Join homework room with a Woodland teacher conducting the classes. Students will be dismissed from ASC to Homework room. Homework room is NOT a tutoring session but a quiet environment where they can concentrate on weekly homework assignments and ask questions.  

    Please pick up your student through After School Care.

    Middle School Homework Room 

    A quiet, uninterrupted time to complete homework, ask questions and study. Students will be dismissed to homework room from ASC. Please pick up your students through After School Care. Mrs. Sully or Mrs. Booten will be conducting classes.

    Music Lessons with Ben

    Music lessons are private, 30-minute, weekly lessons scheduled through Ben Staton. Ben, a Woodland alumnus, has studied guitar since he was ten years old. He has since branched out into many different instruments including electric guitar, bass, piano, voice, and ukulele! He is working on a bachelor's degree in Music Composition from the University of Memphis where he received the Smit Award for Composition. He is excited to share his love of music and to hopefully inspire young musicians to be the best they can be! Fee covers the cost of initial instruction material. Any lessons missed due to the instructor's illness or schedule will be made up as soon as possible.
