Below is a list of E.T.C. classes and you may register for these using the button on the right of this page.
B. E. A. M. S. Each week an ASC class will have a Book Day, Exercise Day, Arts & crafts Day, Movie Day, and a Stem Activity Day. One each day of the week.
ASC Pick Up: Four parking signs are located in the parking lot in front of the Haygood Gym entrance. Please park and text the ASC phone number listed below with the child's name, grade, and make of car. You may proceed through the Haygood Gymnasium entrance, down the stairs, and to the right to the ASC desk to sign your student out for the day.
3rd & 4th Grade Homework Room will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. 3rd graders and 4th graders will be in a designated room. Cost is $10 a visit and must be registered to attend. Students will be dismissed to the designated classroom. Classes will begin in September. Sign-up will be through Active.com. Senior Kindergarten teacher Kimberly Vollmer will be conducting the class.
5th- 8th Grade Homework Room will be Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:30. Students will work in a quiet environment that will be monitored by middle school teacher Julie Sully. She will assist students with homework, keeping a daily and weekly agenda, and study skills. Cost is $10 a visit and students must be registered to attend. Students will be dismissed to the designated classroom. Sign-up will be through Active.com.
ETC Classes: Here are a few examples of classes that will be offered: Art Academy, Green Thumbs and Garden Club, Little Wings (music program), Little Medical School, and Guitar with Ben Staton. Registration will be available online through Active.com.

Gardeners Club
I invite your child to experience the award-winning Woodland Garden and participate in hands-on garden projects! Gardeners will learn to identify and label trees in our campus arboretum, plant spring flowers, and help maintain our garden pond. They will enjoy the freedom of being outside to run, play and experiment!

Little Wing Music Class
Little Wing is School of Rock's music program designed for our youngest students. This music program features a special curriculum where students play games and participate in other interactive activities to help them internalize the foundational skills they will use as their musical abilities grow. Little Wing students have one weekly group lesson in which they use classic rock songs to learn about rhythm, song structure, melody, and dynamics through play.

Lego and Building Club

A.C.T.I.O.N. (Art,Choir,Theater In One Night) is conducted by Woodland Presbyterian Church. A performing arts group sponsored by Woodland Presbyterian Church that meets every Wednesday in the church choir room. We learn songs, create art projects, and present a musical each December and May.

30-minute private music lessons offered by Ben Staton. Ben teaches guitar, ukulele, electric guitar and piano. Ben is a graduate of Woodland Presbyterian School and University of Memphis and has been playing and singing, and composing music most of his life. Lessons will be billed through Blackbaud once a month. Ben will email you to get the best day and time for your child's lessons.

This is NOT a tutoring session or a class to check every answer on their homework assignments, She will pick your child up from after school care and then return them when class has ended. If you register in August, you do not need to register again.

Spring ETC. Classes Session 1
Debate Club
In debate club, topics will be put forward for opposing viewpoints in an informal type of discussion. Teams will compete against each other and will be evaluated by a list of criteria based around the concepts of content, style, and strategy. At the end of each debate, Mrs. Orians will reveal who the winners are, explain why those participants won, pinpoint what both sides did well and where they need to improve, and give advice about how to do a better job in the next informal debate.

Loose Parts Inventions
Create and invent a different project and challenge each week using a variety of “loose parts”. What are “loose parts”? Loose parts are any materials that allow for open-ended interpretation and play. They pave the way for exploration and innovative thinking! S.T.E.A.M. - science, technology, engineering, art, and math - at its purest! Please send some loose parts with your child to make available for the inventions. Loose parts can be boxes (all sizes), plastic bottles and containers, old appliances, buttons, bottle caps, string, old toys, pinecones, acorns, sticks, ... This E.T.C. class will be full of hands-on, three-dimensional problem-solving FUN!
