Basketball Tournament Games
The basketball tournament games scheduled for Monday will be played on the day that we return to school.  The times remain the same.  Girls play at 6:15 p.m. Boys play at 7:15 p.m. All games will be played at SBEC.
Growing Up! A Parent Growth Series

How can a flyswatter improve your child’s reading? Join me for the Growing Up! parent series Monday, February 8 8:00 a.m. in the Woodland Library. Susan McRae, Woodland Breakthrough teacher, will share with us fun games and techniques to improve reading skills. Parents will even leave with their own flyswatter game!

H1N1 Vaccine
Shots on the Spot, LLC, a mobile vaccination company staffed by registered nurses, will be offering the H1N1 FluMist nasal spray vaccine at Woodland Presbyterian School on Friday, February 5th from 3-4:00 p.m. in the conference room.  The H1N1 vaccine is only available to the following groups, per CDC guidelines, at this time:
  • Children and young adults between the ages of 2 and 24
  • Parents or caregivers of infants under 6 months of age; these adults must be 49 years old or younger and not pregnant
  • Health care workers or emergency responders
Any individual under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian with them to receive the vaccine.
A copy of the consent forms for this vaccine can be downloaded here and must be completed prior to the administration of the vaccine.  There are very specific indications of who should not receive the H1N1 FluMist nasal spray which can be found on the Vaccination Information Sheet located at this website: www.cdc.gov/vaccines/pubs/vis/downloads/vis-laiv-h1n1.pdf  It is imperative that before a consent form is signed once you have reviewed this document. 

The administrative fee for the H1N1 Flu Mist nasal spray is $18.00. Shots on the Spot will accept cash or check, with checks made out to Shots on the Spot.  Shots on the Spot cannot file to your health insurance.

Box Tops for Education
Earn cash for our school every time you shop for groceries. Clip Box Tops coupons from hundreds of your favorite products. Place your clipped box tops in a plastic bag and turn them in by February 15th. Remember, you can make a difference every time you go to the grocery store!
Middle School Bible Study
Jason Mendoza, Youth Director at Woodland Presbyterian Church, is offering an early morning Bible Study for the middle school students on Thursday mornings from 7:15 am to 7:50 a.m. during the month of February. They will meet in the Fellowship Hall and donuts will be supplied.   The church door will be open from 7:15 to 7:25 for students to enter for Bible study only.  Middle School Students, please join us to study God's word.
